The 1920 census gives the following information on Robert Jas. Grubb age 8 living with parents, Roy E. Grubb born Ohio and Velma M. born Michigan. The family is living on Rose Street and Roy is working in a garage. Siblings living in this household. Veda V. age 13; Reva A age 12; Raymond O age 10; Katherine M age 6; Beatrice V age 4yrs 3mos and Mildred M age 2yrs 2mos with all the children born in Michigan.

In 1930 Robert James Grubb age 19, is found living on the Peninsula on with his parents. His father, Roy is renting a farm and farming it. Robert is working as a farm laborer. Coxswain Ronald Grubb is home on R 1, Peninsula Center road for a 30 day furlough from naval duty at Boston. Since entering service he has been on crash boat duty, meeting incoming transports. He was hospitalized five months when a plane crashed into a boat, injuring many of the crew of which Grubb was a member. His brother Military Police Sergeant
Robert Grubb, is serving his fifth year, having seen action in New Guinea and the Philippines. He is now stationed at Marila.

Ernest George Zetzman, Jr.
CADILLAC - Ernest George Zetzman, Jr. of Fife Lake passed away Dec. 18, 2008 at Munson Hospice House after enduring Alzheimers. He was 73.
Ernie was born Feb. 22, 1935 to Ernest George and Agatha (Treichel) Zetzman Sr. in Lansing. He graduated from J.W. Sexton High School in Lansing where he was the Senior Class President in 1953. Ernie graduated from Michigan State University in 1958 with a Building Construction Management degree.
After college, he served in the U.S. Army in Korea and was honorably discharged. He married Billie Joanne Holmes June 4, 1960 in Lansing. Ernie worked for the State of Michigan for 37 years, retiring as a property appraiser for the Treasury Department. He had many friends in the northern Michigan county buildings.

Ernie had a lifetime passion for outdoor sports and the beauty in nature. He was a member of Hiawatha Sportsman Club, Ducks Unlimited and was an exceptional marksman. Sharing his love of hunting, fishing, golfing and athletic events with family and friends gave him great pleasure. His zest for life, words of encouragement, loving kindness and service to others will be remembered by many.

Ernie is survived by Billie Joanne Zetzman, his loving wife of 48 years who cared for him at home and daughters Shari (Pat) Johnson of Cadillac, Gretchen (Jeff) Knoblock of Traverse City and Karen (Dr. Steven) Mast of Traverse City. He was a beloved grandfather to 12 grandchildren, Ethan, Nick, Rachel and Lexi Johnson, Blake, Grant, Max and Chase Knoblock and Katie, Marshall, Mari and Stevie Mast. He is also survived by his sister, Joyce Cary and family of Mason and aunts, Ella Smith and Virginia Albro.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will take place 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2008 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 11198 E. M-55, Cadillac.

Officiating will be Dr. Bryan Salminen, Pastor. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Hitesman-Holdship Funeral Home, 620 N. Mitchell in Cadillac. Interment will be in the Deepdale Cemetery in Lansing. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church Building Fund in memory of Ernie Zetzman.
