James Erwin Youmans born 30 May 1919 in Michigan a white citizen of Grand Traverse County he enlisted in the Army on 27 May 1941 in Kalamazoo, Michigan into Branch Immaterial-Warrant Officers as a Private. James graduated from grammar school and worked as an automobile serviceman. He was 68" tall and weighed 138 pounds at that time.

Grawn Couple Wed 50 Years

Silver Lake Grange home was the setting for a 50th wedding anniversary party Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 when Mr. and Mrs. Erva Youmans entertained their friends and neighbors and relatives at an open house in honor of their 50th anniversary. Golden chrysanthemums decorated the room and a large anniversary cake centered the serving table. Guests were from Traverse City, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Mesick, and Grawn. Their son, James Youman of Muskegon and his family were unable to attend.
